Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to Stepscroll. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Stepscroll Inc. ("Stepscroll," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Stepscroll mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using Stepscroll, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to use Stepscroll:

• You must be at least 13 years old
• If you are between 13 and 16 years old, you must have parental or guardian consent
• You must be capable of forming a binding contract
• You must not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law

Service Description

Stepscroll is a digital wellness application that encourages physical activity by linking screen time to movement. The Service features:

• Integration with health tracking platforms (Apple Health, Google Fit, etc.)
• Conversion of physical steps into screen time credits
• App locking and unlocking based on earned credits
• Usage analytics and activity tracking
• Gamification features including leaderboards and challenges
• Customizable exchange rates and app management tools

User Responsibilities

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breaches
• Ensuring your account information is accurate and up to date

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
• Attempt to circumvent app locking mechanisms or time restrictions
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Use automated systems or bots to manipulate step counts or credits
• Share, sell, or transfer your account to others
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Collect or harvest information about other users
• Impersonate another person or entity

Health and Safety Disclaimer

You acknowledge and agree that:

• Physical activity carries inherent risks of injury
• You should exercise within your personal limitations
• You should stop activity immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort
• Stepscroll is not a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment
• The step-to-screen-time conversion is arbitrary and not a medical recommendation

Subscription and Payment

Stepscroll offers both free and premium subscription tiers:

• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually)
• Payment is processed through the App Store or Google Play Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle
• Refunds are subject to the App Store or Google Play Store refund policies

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Software, code, and algorithms
• Text, graphics, logos, and images
• Trademarks and branding
• User interface and design

are owned by Stepscroll Inc. or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without express written permission.

Disclaimers and Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, reliability, or availability of the Service
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Security of your data or protection from unauthorized access

We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your specific requirements or that it will be compatible with all devices or operating systems.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEPSCROLL AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill
• Physical injuries resulting from physical activity
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
• Service interruptions or technical failures

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Stepscroll and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any rights of third parties.

Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, with or without notice
• Remove or disable access to the Service
• Delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the app. Continued use of Stepscroll after such notifications constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.

Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive your right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding must be brought exclusively in the courts located in [Jurisdiction].

Severability
